Ensemble Made In Canada is rapidly gaining recognition as Canada’s premier piano quartet. EMIC’s Mosaïque Project consists of three components: a newly commissioned suite of piano quartets by 14 Canadian composers, each inspired by a particular region of Canada, a national concert tour throughout the 2018-2019 season, and a specially designed website that will document audience-generated artwork inspired by the musical commission.

It will involve artists from across Canada including performers, composers, visual artists, and web designers in order to create an evolving artistic work that will be experienced by audiences, participants and online visitors throughout our country and internationally.

Ensemble Made in Canada comprises musicians known and admired across the country: pianist Angela park, violinist Elissa Lee, and violist Sharon Wei; the quartet’s regular cellist Rachel Mercer, principal of the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, will be replaced for this program by a Canadian artist returning from Germany, the superb cellist Trey Lee.
