The Regina Musical Club invites you to get “Up Close & Personal!”, with a new interactive, educational concert series that introduces the instruments of the orchestra. This is your chance to get to know the strings, brass, and woodwind instruments close up! Featuring musicians of the Regina Symphony Orchestra, hear professionals introduce their instruments, play music that shows off what they do best, and answer your questions about what it’s like to play them.

Meet the Horns! on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 7:30pm @ the Artesian in partnership with New Dance Horizons featuring the Regina Horn Quartet: Richard Burdick, Wendy Tsymbal, Alison Cushway, and Sharla Benoit. This program titled “The French Horn from Bach to the Future” will showcase authentic horns from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic eras, offering a fascinating demonstration of their historical evolution and unique sounds. They will also play some jazz compositions and familiar tunes including from popular soundtracks like Frozen, KPop Demon Hunters, and How to Train Your Dragon! New Dance Horizons’ Robin Poitras will also give a special performance with RSO Principal Horn, Richard Burdick, to his own arrangement of Bob Dylan’s “Blowing in the Wind”, merging graceful movement with evocative horn music for a truly memorable experience.

All events are free for U of R students and 18 and under. Tickets for adults are $25 per show or $60 to attend all three

In addition to the public concerts, the RMC will also be taking this educational series to elementary schools in Regina including the Crescents School (Feb. 5th), St. Theresa Elementary School (Feb. 6th), and St. Matthew School (March 4th). Special thanks to an anonymous donor for making both the public and school concerts possible.
